An intimate audio archive exploring the power of reconciliation and the legacy we leave behind. Born from a series of final conversations between my father and I after 10 years of not speaking, these conversations capture the raw reality of reconnecting before it’s too late.
Since my father's passing, I still interview guests about the defining moments of their lives and the lessons they wish to share with future generations. It is a candid look at healing, family dynamics, and the human experience. Whether you are navigating your own family trauma or looking for hope in the face of loss, pull up a chair. This is our family story, but it’s written for anyone who needs to feel a little less alone.

Thayne and I chat about love, history, and politics. He explains what life on the reservation was like, as well as what it was like dating Heather. This is definitely a part I, as I feel like we set the stage with what happened so we can follow-up soon with what any of it means.

Anyway, Travis, in this episode with Thayne you said you wished he could remember what it was about. He could be thinking of something different but that is where my mind immediately jumped (for what it’s worth!). Thanks for sharing these conversations. It has been an honor to learn about the Poppleton family.

I recall thinking this as well as i listened to the episodes. Thayne would need to verify that we both recall the same instance, but I remember feeling this way when Travis asked Merlin about the original conversation they had in which Travis proposed the idea of the whole project to Merlin and Travis’s reasoning behind it. I recall Merlin not remembering and this being somewhat of a surprise to Travis.

As with all of these conversations, I really enjoyed listening to Travis and Thayne chat together. Very thought provoking. Thayne mentioned a moment in one of the conversations with Travis’s dad in which Merlin didn’t remember something that sounded like an important moment for Travis.
